Details

The project aims to develop unique author personas for planksip.org, each embodying a distinct philosophical voice. Students will be tasked with ghostwriting a book using ChatGPT, adopting their assigned persona's perspective. The project will involve documenting all prompts and structuring the writing process to ensure consistency and quality. By doing so, students will create a repeatable framework for generating high-quality philosophical books. This initiative will explore important philosophical questions and apply philosophical methods to real-world problem-solving. The project offers an opportunity for students to apply their classroom knowledge of philosophy and writing in a practical setting, enhancing their understanding of philosophical discourse and creative writing.

Deliverables

Each student will be responsible for selecting eight personas from the provided spreadsheet and entering their name in Column C next to their chosen personas. Before beginning the writing process, students must propose a ChatGPT strategy and submit a list of prompts they plan to use for generating the book. This strategy must be approved before proceeding. Once approved, students will demonstrate the creation of the book by recording their process in a Google Meet presentation. The final deliverable will be a fully written book for each persona, formatted in Google Docs and ready for publication.

Community-Focused

planksip.org is a place for Platonic scholarship and Socratic learning. This community of philosophers extends beyond the confines of a simple course with introductory concepts and familiar summaries of Plato that fall short of the Justice deserved for this intellectual giant.
