Details

Our company has an innovative product. This is a defense engineering product meant for Police, Security, and Teachers.

We would like a group of students to create a B2B digital marketing plan in the defense industry from doing SWOT  to PESTEL analysis.

We will be holding weekly meetings to get an update on the product's marketing plan. Students are free to add their add-ons as long as it's discussed.

Students will be required to submit a short weekly report on what they worked on or improved for the Marketing Plan.

The goal of this project is to use the Marketing Plan as a tool to be part of our GO-2-Market Strategy to bring our product to market.

  1. Conduct secondary research on sustainability trends in packaging within the industry.
  2. Develop and distribute a short online survey to a sample audience (we will assist with this).
  3. Analyze survey data and compile findings.
  4. Benchmark competitors’ products through publicly available resources (Competitive analysis).
  5. Synthesize insights and recommendations into a comprehensive report.

Deliverables

Before the actual design work begins, we always encourage employees and students to bring forward their ideas to find a better process or more innovative way of going about these projects. They will be given certain details of the product (ex. Target Audience, Competition, specifications, functions it needs to perform, etc) and from there they can brainstorm and start to build the marketing plan. If they find or believe there is any other information they need to present, they can bring it forward.

We also require the student(s) to participate in weekly online meetings to discuss any changes and updates to the plan. In addition to checking their progress and teaching them. During these weekly meetings, they should present a short report outlining what was changed, improved, added, etc using visuals and other media means.

After completing the marketing plan, they should have the final deliverable presented in a folder with the following content:

  • Format: A detailed PDF document including data analysis, key findings, and recommendations. It will be accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation summarizing the results.

  • Industry trends and insights from secondary research
  • Analysis of survey results with visualizations (graphs and charts)
  • Competitive analysis and benchmarks
  • Recommendations for sustainable packaging strategies
  • An executive summary detailing the overview, timeline, key findings, and changes made
  • Detailed summaries of their timeline, including attached previous reports, improvements, etc.
  • Files of the Marketing Plan and related documents.
  • List any potential issues and potential areas of improvements
  • A recap of any tools used.

  • Format: PowerPoint or Google Slides (15-25 slides)
  • Contents:
  • Highlights of key findings
  • Visual summaries of survey data
  • Actionable recommendations
  • Target Audience
  • Competitive Analysis
  • SWOT and PESTEL (environmental analysis)
